Isleta Pueblo Maintenance Facility < Back Isleta Pueblo Maintenance Facility This comprehensive project includes multiple construction initiatives aimed at enhancing and optimizing the Pueblo's facilities and infrastructure. This 16,150 square feet building serves as a centralized hub, consolidating critical maintenance services for Motorpool, Water Resources, Maintenance, and Department of Natural Resources. It features three spacious vehicle repair and maintenance bays equipped with an overhead crane, two vehicle lifts, and an efficient fluid distribution system. The equipment yard, spanning approximately 4 acres, offers secured storage for vehicles and materials, alongside amenities like an exterior wash bay and a fueling facility, ensuring operational efficiency. A strategic reorganization of the intersection at HWY 47 and Tribal Road 97 improves traffic flow and safety. Expanded acceleration and deceleration lanes, along with upgraded road alignment for TR 97, enhance vehicular movement. New traffic lights have been skillfully installed to accommodate the changes. Tribal Road 97 has been meticulously engineered and redesigned with new vertical and horizontal alignments, ensuring optimal safety and efficiency. The fully paved roadway and state-of-the-art drainage system effectively address water flow and runoff concerns. The successful completion of these diverse construction projects underscores our commitment to elevating the Pueblo's facilities, infrastructure, and overall community well-being. Camel Rock Casino Bar Additions & Renovations < Back Camel Rock Casino Bar Additions & Renovations The Camel Rock Casino Bar Addition and Renovations project was successfully completed in 2016. Upon entering the Casino, the focal point is the Player's Club, which sits adjacent to the Cashier's Area, serving as the heart of the Casino and a welcoming area for patrons. The design features a slim, curved soffit, a sculptured wall with monitors, and a receptionist's desk with a sleek, white phenolic countertop. Vibrant colors are introduced throughout the space, accentuated by specialty lighting and an LED color-changing wall wash, complemented by pendant lights over each station. Similar finishes were utilized in both the Bar and Patio addition and the Restroom renovations. Noteworthy features include custom routed front bar facades and custom-designed acrylic colored sphere light fixtures. The Bar area incorporates a multi-functional stage, while the all-season patio boasts contemporary finishes, combining to create a warm, inviting, and contemporary theme throughout the space. However, due to the impact of COVID, its progress is currently on hold. Once operational, the facility will serve as a centralized hub for all Pueblo Administrative staff, streamlining various departments under one roof. As the administrative functions are currently scattered across the Pueblo, this facility aims to bring together essential departments, including Transportation, Design & Construction, Survey & Mapping, Environment, Public Works, Natural Resources, Procurement, Treasury, Human Resources, Water Resources, and Isleta Pueblo Housing Authority. This consolidation will significantly benefit the Pueblo community by enhancing accessibility and convenience for administrative services. The planned facility also includes a spacious training room designed to double as an Emergency Operation Center when needed. This multi-purpose space ensures the Pueblo is prepared to respond effectively to any emergency situation that may arise. Although the project is currently on hold, the completion of the Schematic Design phase marks a promising step towards creating a highly functional and efficient administrative center for the Pueblo. She holds an Associate of Science in Architectural/Engineering Drafting Technology from Central New Mexico Community College. As an Indigenous New Mexican from the Jemez and Zuni Pueblos, Chelsea's commitment to giving back to Native communities through her work in infrastructure development is unwavering. Her career is dedicated to serving Native American communities in the Southwest, and her expertise in drafting plays a critical role in achieving that goal. Currently, Chelsea is part of the team at Buffalo Design, where she assists architects and intern architects in producing site plans, floor plans, and renderings for various significant projects. Her contributions include renovations of the White Mountain Apache Tribe’s gas station and tire shop and her involvement in the Hopi Tribal Housing Authority’s community building in Kykotsmovi Village. Chelsea is also part of the production team working on the historic renovation of the Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre at the Santa Fe Indian School, where she contributes to preserving its original design while adapting it to the school’s needs. Chelsea's drafting experience is complemented by her work on the Acoma Business Park project, where she provided the Acoma Pueblo with commercial and residential spaces aimed at generating sustainable revenue for the community. Her role in this project, which included assisting with interior design and specifications, showcases her versatile skill set in both technical and design aspects. NTUA has entrusted us with the task of seamlessly integrating the new design with the existing architecture, providing much-needed administrative offices. Our design approach focuses on respecting and preserving the architectural heritage and cultural significance of the NTUA Building. We aim to create a cohesive extension that complements the original structure, maintaining visual continuity by using similar design language and materials. The new design thoughtfully addresses the functional requirements for additional administrative offices, ensuring efficient and organized spaces to meet the organization's evolving needs. Emphasizing a welcoming and inclusive environment, the expanded building maximizes natural light, ventilation, and spatial flow, fostering a productive atmosphere for staff and visitors. Beyond the practical aspects, the project emphasizes the cultural importance of community integration and preservation.
